REMOVE OUTDOOR SHOES, SOCKS, JEWELRY, & EMPTY POCKETS
If you wear glasses, we encourage you to use sports glasses or contact lenses for your own protection.
NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED IN THE GYM AREA
Please set your items in a free cubbie or off the gym floor. As techniques in the gym involve many high speed maneuvers such as running, jumping, climbing etc. food, drinks and footwear left in the gym area could result in serious injury for a student.
Stay out of the workout area until it is your session.
Arrive on time and finish in allotted class time. Do not interrupt other athletes while they are working out! Respect everyone's workout time and space!
Respect the environment, equipment, coach and other people playing in the gym.
Listen and follow staff instructions at all times.
When using the Parkour gym we ask that you wear proper footwear (no open toed shoes). Our Parkour walls are coated in a rough coating designed to mimic the grip of exterior walls on buildings and for this reason shoes are highly recommended.
Staff may remove anyone for poor, violent, or inappropriate behaviour and/or coarse language.
RESTRICTIONS FOR BEGINNERS (during open gym times)
For your safety, beginners may not train on top of, or jump off any obstacles that are taller than their sightline. This includes all bars and platforms over 6 feet.
Objects within your reach are always okay to hang from. Staff may ask any person to demonstrate skill level for certain pieces of equipment. Staff will decide what activities you are allowed to perform. Please listen.
Kids that are not able to listen or follow instructions from a teacher will be removed from class and the parent contacted. Depending on the severity the student may be removed permanently from Flux classes.
Children who are deemed too immature by staff will be required to play with a parent/guardian.
WATCH OUT FOR OTHERS AROUND YOU
Look before you leap! Make sure other people around you know what spaces you are using.
NO UNSUPERVISED TAG DURING OPEN GYM TIME unless approval from Head Teacher has been given.
Chasing other people or running blindly through the gym is dangerous to you, other people training in the gym, and is a violation of the previous rule.
NO DIVING INTO FOAM PIT | NO DIGGING | DO NOT VANDALIZE THE FOAM
Anyone caught ripping the foam blocks will be removed from the gym immediately.
SHARE THE FOAM PIT WITH OTHERS
Take turns and communicate with others so everyone gets some foam pit fun!
The GUARD RAILS around the foam pit are there to make you feel safe but will not break your fall. For this reason we ask you to please not touch or lean on them.
PAD YOUR FALL ZONES
Use pads and/or mats underneath you at all times until you have more formal Parkour/ acrobatics/ gymnastics/ movement training.
Please respect our equipment by using mats appropriately. Do not drag mats, vaults, boxes, or any other equipment across the gym. Find a friend or staff if you need help moving equipment.
Always climb with a mat under you and do not walk under anyone that is climbing as they could fall and land on you resulting in serious injury.
STAY WITHIN YOUR COMFORT ZONE
Many of the people you see training here have been doing so for many years. Take it slow. Become familiar with our gym and its many different obstacles & structures.
We have a family type atmosphere here at Flux and as we have many students we want to ensure everyone gets home safely so please check in with your teachers upon arrival. When ready to depart the gym please sign out with your teacher who will wish to confirm that you have transportation home.
